L7 Electric Vehicle - Homologation

Customer needs The customer requested a complete homologation test for an L7-category vehicle, manufactured by a Swiss company specialized in electric vehicles. CF3000 proposal: To achieve the homologation of the vehicle, several tests were required, conducted in different locations: - CF3000 laboratory for tests related to vehicle range and energy consumption, for defrosting and demisting, washer system, EMC, and engine power tests. - Proving ground for tests on vehicle speed, steering, and braking performance. - Test track for ABS testing. All tests were performed in accordance with EU regulations, ensuring that the results complied with the values established by the regulatory standards. Testing Procedures - Range and Energy Consumption Tests: Conducted on a roller bench at CF3000 laboratory, following the WMTC driving cycle. - Vehicle Speed Tests: Performed on the proving ground, including maximum speed tests and coast-down tests. - Steering Tests: Conducted by driving the vehicle around cones to evaluate its steering precision and handling. - Braking Tests: Involved accelerating to a specific speed, applying the brakes, and measuring the distance and time required to come to a complete stop. - ABS Tests: Performed on the test track, assessing braking efficiency on two different surfaces (wet and dry) and two different asphalts, measuring stopping time and distance. - Defrosting and Demisting Tests: Conducted in a climatic chamber, where the vehicle was exposed to specific conditions (frozen or fogged windshield) to evaluate the performance of the air conditioning system. - Washer Test: Conducted in a controlled chamber, the test aimed to verify the proper functioning of the windscreen wiper system when activated. - Electromagnetic Compatibility (EMC) Tests: Conducted in an anechoic chamber, where the vehicle was exposed to electromagnetic frequencies of various intensities to assess their impact on the electronic systems. - Engine Power Tests: Performed in laboratory by running the engine at specific speeds for a set duration to determine its maximum and nominal power output. These tests ensure that the vehicle meets homologation requirements and complies with European safety and performance regulations.
